New app to assist clubs seeking challenge matches
Croke Park has launched of a new club focused app entitled PlayUs GAA, which has been designed to facilitate clubs to search for and arrange challenge matches.
The idea for a mobile app that made it easier for coaches and clubs to organise challenge games is the brainchild of Mark O’Donovan, a member and coach with Bantry Blues GAA Club in Cork, who felt that the task of organising challenge games, blitzes and tournaments could be made much easier using modern technology.
PlayUs GAA was devised in collaboration with the GAA Games Development Department in Croke Park and developed by Galway-based company, App Design. It is available to all GAA, LGFA and Camogie clubs, catering for all age groups and grades.
Coaches seeking to organise games can simply enter the proposed game details and the app then sends out invites to appropriate teams within a designated distance. PlayUs will be a very useful tool for coaches and will provide more games for club players.
