Important Child Safety Notice

By lecamogie, Wednesday, 13th December 2017 | 0 comments

In order to strengthen current best practice in Child Safeguarding by the Camogie Association, Ard Chomhairle has decided that from 1 February 2018 no underage Camogie activity will be allowed within and across Units at all levels unless a Children's Officer is appointed and in place throughout the season. The name and contact details of said Children's Officer must be notified by clubs to the County Children's Officer; County Children Officers' details must be notified to the Provincial Children's Officer and details of Provincial Children's Officers must be notified to the National Children's Officer.

As per Rule 3.4 of the Official Guide Part 1 the Executive Committee at club, county and provincial levels, must be comprised of core Officers including a Children's Officer.

Should a Unit not be in compliance with the above rule, then all underage Camogie activities within that Unit will be suspended immediately until the Ard Chomhairle decision and Official Rule is complied with.

Further information can be sought by contacting Stephen Flynn, National Childrens Officer on the details below.

Thank you for your co-operation.
