A Chairde,

In light of COVID-19 Leinster Camogie would like to notify all units of the following in relation to our Fixtures/Development  programme.

While the current restrictions on Camogie  activity extends up to 29 March it is generally agreed that this will be extended, in light of this and attempting to try and give some certainty to counties /clubs in what is a difficult time a few key decisions have been made.

The Leinster Club League for 2020 will be suspended, when camogie activity does resume Leinster believes that the clubs focus will rightly be within its ow county fixtures.
The Leinster Under 16 A and B Championship Fixtures scheduled up finals on May 3rd are postponed. If it is possible to facilitate post exams the completion  of Under 16 Championship later in the year it will done.

The Leinster Under 14 Development Blitz scheduled for Saturday, May 16th is postponed. Similarly,  we will endeavour to facilitate an Under 14 Development Blitz at regional venues later in the Summer, these maybe reduced capacity & additional venues if required.

We will liaise with the Camogie Association and Development Staff in due course and depending on how the situation develops and how the Inter-County games programme pan out we may well have to adjust our own games programme for this year. This may mean a re-structuring some competitions.

We would also like to reassure you that when games activity re-commences, we will endeavour to provide an adequate games schedule for our players at all ages and grades giving the difficult situation we find ourselves in.

We would remind counties of the applications process for the €3000 development grants from Leinster Camogie Council, the deadline for these will be extended but during this closed period it may be possible to start planning for when we recommence camogie.

We would also recognise that counties will be under resource constraints and difficult times in the coming months, while Leinster Council resources are not large or unlimited we are committed to supporting our counties to ensure that when it is safe to do so camogie will once again play a key role in sporting life in Leinster.

We would ask all clubs an and weeks and in particular to encourage our young members to practice social distancing. Camogie’s greatest resource are its people and during this difficult time we would ask us all to do whatever we can to ensure the public good & community prevails.
